
Authorities in Oak Lawn and Munster are ramping up efforts to track down suspects involved in two separate but boldly executed armed robberies at local convenience stores. In the first incident, the Oak Lawn Police Department is searching for five masked men believed to be involved in an early morning robbery at a 7-Eleven store located at 4501 W. 95th St. As reported by NBC Chicago, the suspects ordered customers to the ground before robbing them along with the store's cash and unsuccessfully attempting to steal a parked vehicle.
Similarly, Munster Police are on the lookout for four men following an armed heist at a Speedway gas station situated at 444 Ridge Rd. According to the Chicago Tribune, witnesses reported that at least four armed men took quickly cash from the register before fleeing in a white Kia passenger vehicle chased by a dark-colored Jeep. The suspects were last seen heading south on Harrison.
The Oak Lawn incident involved a distinctive getaway vehicle, a dark gray Jeep Cherokee with a temporary Illinois tag number 163AC317, that was reported stolen. This crew has been suspected of numerous other crimes across southwest suburbs and northwest Indiana, as per NBC Chicago. Anyone with information regarding the vehicle's location or additional details has been prompted to contact the Oak Lawn Police Department Detective Division.
