A grim discovery was made yesterday in Monroe County, where a vehicle with a deceased individual inside was found submerged in a pond. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies were dispatched to the 2500 block of North Stonelake Drive following a report of a partial submersion of a vehicle in the water, according to FOX59.
Law enforcement officers were not alone in their response, as the Monroe County Dive Team, medical services, and fire department personnel promptly provided their assistance at the scene. A per the sheriff's office, the dive team was successful in locating the car and discovered an individual in the driver's seat, unfortunately, the individual was found deceased and the identity of the person has yet to be made public, according to a press release obtained by IDS News.
While the investigation is actively being pursued MCSO detectives and a crash reconstructionist have been enlisted to aid in unraveling the circumstances that led to the vehicle's sinking and the person's death; as detailed in a report from WISHTV. An autopsy has been scheduled for today, tasked to the Monroe County Coroner's Office, which in its pursuit of answers, may shed light on the cause of death.
