
The Broward County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating a fatal shooting incident that took place in Dania Beach during the early hours of last Saturday. According to Local 10 News, deputies discovered the body of Robert Lee Speights, who, due to Marsy’s Law, had his age withheld, after being called to the scene at approximately 4:50 a.m.
Found dead from multiple gunshot wounds near the 700 block of Southwest 10th Street, the shooting's circumstances remain under scrutiny, prompting detectives to comb the area between Phippen Waiters Road and J.A. Ely Boulevard, just west of Woodlawn Cemetery. Deputies said the man was killed during a shooting that unfolded early Saturday morning in a statement obtained by Local 10 News.
Further details were provided by CBS News Miami, including the involvement of BSO's Crime Scene and Homicide Units in the investigation. Broward Fire Rescue also responded to the incident, where they pronounced Speights dead on the scene.
