
A fire broke out on a building's roof on North Graham Street in Charlotte on Sunday afternoon after solar panels caught fire. According to QC News, the incident occurred on the 1500 block, where a member of the Charlotte Fire Investigations Task Force noted smoke emanating from the structure at around 3:18 p.m. Firefighting teams swiftly responded to the call, identifying the rooftop's solar panels as the source of the blaze. QC News described the efforts taken to handle the situation promptly.
WSOCTV reported that firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building near Camp North End. They quickly used hoses and extinguishers to put out the fire and checked inside to ensure there were no further threats.
The exact cause of the fire has not been released. However, the incident has raised concerns about the safety and monitoring of renewable energy installations in urban areas.
