However, as night falls, the skies will remain mostly clear with temperatures dropping to a comfortable 67 degrees. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook indicates no immediate threats for today and tonight. But beachgoers should take heed come Sunday, as the nearshore waters of Lake Michigan brace for "High Swim Risk" conditions, with a breezy climate pushing highs downward to a brisk 73 degrees.
Labor Day will continue the trend of sun-dominated skies, sustaining the dry spell with a high near 72 degrees. While the day may beckon outdoor enthusiasts, the conditions on Lake Michigan remain precarious for swimmers and small crafts alike. The holiday does not exempt the water from nature’s grasp, as described in a post by NWS Chicago, warning of "dangerous swimming conditions expected on Lake Michigan Sunday-Monday."
Looking ahead to the week, temperatures gently rise, with Tuesday and Wednesday forecasting uninterrupted sunshine and highs of 76 and 80 degrees, respectively, as per the National Weather Service. But Chicago’s renowned unpredictability comes into play by Thursday night when showers might interrupt the mostly sunny narrative, leaving residents with a mostly cloudy closure and a low around 63 degrees. As Friday dawns, the city is expected to reset to mostly sunny with a high near 71.
