Chicago authorities have charged 20-year-old Tommery Moore with multiple felonies, including kidnapping and armed robbery, following an incident that left one man stabbed and another robbed at gunpoint. According to the Chicago Police Department, the alleged series of crimes took place in the 7600 block of S. Halsted on August 28, 2024.
Moore, who resides on the 4300 block of S. Lake Park Ave., was quickly apprehended after the robbery and stabbing, which were reported minutes apart. The 36-year-old male robbery victim identified Moore as one of the assailants, leading to his arrest at 11:18 a.m. on the same day. A loaded firearm was reportedly involved in the commission of the crimes.
The charges Moore faces include one felony count each of kidnapping while armed with a firearm, armed robbery, aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (UUW) in a vehicle for persons under 21, aggravated UUW in a vehicle with a loaded firearm and no valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID), and aggravated UUW in a vehicle without a FOID. The additional details surrounding the incident remain limited, with the Chicago Police Department not releasing any further information post-arrest.
Moore's detention hearing is scheduled to take place today, August 30, 2024, at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California. The 37-year-old stabbing victim's condition has not yet to be disclosed publicly, as the investigation proceeds.
