In a heartwarming celebration of National Dog Day, the Coon Rapids Police Department has just introduced the latest addition to its ranks, not a recruit but a four-legged friend named Gizmo. According to the Coon Rapids Police Department, Gizmo is a service dog generously donated by Can Do Canines, an organization specializing in the training of assistance dogs.
Appropriately trained in a variety of living environments to ensure his adaptability and obedience, Gizmo is joining the department with the initial role of promoting staff wellness. Partnered with Officer John Ormston, Gizmo will also eventually serve in public engagement duties once he's settled into his new role within the department, as per the Coon Rapids Police Department. And while fulfilling his duties, Gizmo has been ensuring proper training in multiple living environments.
