Early this morning, a violent incident occurred in San Francisco's Mission District, leading to the death of an unidentified man. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) responded to reports of an assault and gunfire at the intersection of 20th and Shotwell Streets at 5:02 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound lying on the ground, as reported by the San Francisco Police Department.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders and paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The SFPD's Homicide Detail is now leading the investigation into the shooting.
