The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued a Missing Child Alert for 8-year-old Liah Meza of Homestead. Last seen in the vicinity of the 40th block of Northwest First Avenue, the young girl is about four feet tall, weighs approximately 60 pounds, and may be wearing eyeglasses along with a dark-colored T-shirt and shorts, as reported by the Local 10 news release.
In a desperate plea, Christian Meza, the girl's father, expressed his turmoil, "It breaks my heart, honestly, I don’t spend a moment away from her when she’s with me." Liah is believed to possibly be in the company of her mother, Yailen Roche, and her mother's boyfriend, Geovany Maresma-Burcet. Both adults were described with the mother last seen in a grey tank top and black shorts, and the boyfriend wearing a grey T-shirt and black shorts. Authorities fear that they might have to been forced to hastily leave the state, venturing far from what one knows as home, heading as far off as the Lafayette, Louisiana area. The trio is assumed to be traveling in a 2021 white Honda Pilot, bearing the license plate QEAE24, and with a distinctive bicycle rack attached, according to the NBC Miami.
if anyone spots the child or her suspected companions, they should not directly approach them but immediately contact law enforcement. The Homestead Police Department can be reached at 305-247-1535 or simply dial 911. These calls may represent the vital light that pierces the murk of uncertainty, able to guide a child back to safety, as noted in their post on X.
