Law enforcement authorities in Fort Myers are on the hunt for a man accused of repeatedly burglarizing an adult store. The suspect is charged with taking items totaling approximately $1,000 in value, including a $300 sex doll and male enhancement pills from the Tender Moments shop, as per a report from NBC-2. The store endured multiple break-ins, with the suspect captured on camera throwing a brick to shatter the entryway before making away with goods.
The spree began late Sunday night at the Southwest Florida shop, when the man managed to not cut off the surveillance system, allowing for his actions to be recorded. This critical mistake has now potentially set to narrow down his avenues of escape, according to details shared by WSVN. The suspect was seen entering and exiting the store multiple times, changing his clothing with each visit in a bid to disguise his identity.
The break-ins were discovered the following morning by the store owner, who promptly alerted the authorities. Lee County deputies quickly arrived at the scene, finding the front door damaged and a variety of X-rated items missing. Based on the information provided by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, surveillance footage timestamps the suspect's visits at 11:24 p.m. on Monday and twice more yesterday at around 1:01 a.m. and again at 2:35 a.m.
Store owner Angela Wynn expressed her surprise at the nature of the heist, stating, "I was just amazed that it was all about product and not money. They bypassed the cash register," in a statement obtained by NBC-2. In hopes to quickly apprehend the burglar, Wynn is offering a $1,500 reward for any information that might lead to the recognition of the masked individual. Throughout the caper, the suspect managed to effectively conceal his identity even as he varied his wardrobe choices.
Information pertaining to the suspect's whereabouts remains elusive. The authorities and the store owner are appealing to the public for assistance. Those with any information relevant to this burglary are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), where tipsters have the option to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
