A violent altercation in Hayward led to the city's ninth homicide of the year early yesterday. At about 2:06 a.m., Hayward Police officers were dispatched to the 24000 block of Silva Avenue after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. On arrival, they discovered a 39-year-old man with fatal stab wounds, who was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Alongside a deceased man, a 37-year-old woman was found, also suffering from stab wounds. The woman was promptly taken to a local hospital where she is being treated for her injuries, which have been termed as non-life-threatening. The identities of both individuals are known but have been withheld from the public at this time.
