In a stirring reunion, William Adams reunited with the Colerain Township first responders and officers who were pivotal in saving his life during a heart attack he experienced in April. As reported by FOX19, Adams encountered a severe heart attack while driving his family to his grandson’s basketball game, subsequently losing control of his vehicle on eastbound I-275.
Adams recounted to FOX19 how he felt something wasn't right and then passed out. In a harrowing effort to quickly save him, his family members acted as immediate first responders, maneuvering the car to safety and calling for help. The dire situation required the townsfolk's first responders to rapidly perform CPR to keep Adams alive.
According to WLWT, the prognosis for Adams was initially grim, with expectations that he might not survive the ambulance ride, let alone the subsequent hospitalization. This makes his survival and recovery all the more noteworthy and a testament to the combined efforts of his family and the skilled first responders of Colerain Township.
Almost four months after the incident, Adams got to personally thank the individuals who came to his rescue. "I'm a walking miracle, that these people were able to help me to get to a point and then get me to the hospital, and everyone here saved my life," Adams said in a statement obtained by WCPO. Overcome with emotion, he expressed his gratitude for their caring actions and stated that words were not enough to show his indebtedness to the first responders.
