
Houston authorities are seeking assistance from the public to help identify a person of interest in connection with the stabbing death of a man on Montrose Boulevard. The Houston Police Department has released surveillance photos of the individual, currently not charged, described simply as a black male, according to a recent news release.
The incident occurred around 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, when officers responded to a stabbing call at a business parking lot at 4720 Montrose Boulevard. The victim, later identified as 34-year-old Phillip Cason, was found unresponsive and had sustained multiple stab wounds. Despite the efforts of the Houston Fire Department paramedics, who transported Cason to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, he was pronounced dead.
A witness reportedly saw the suspect, an unknown black male, fleeing westbound on Banks Street shortly after the stabbing. Authorities have intensified their search, and any information on the identity, and whereabouts of the person of interest is highly encouraged. The Houston Police Department's Homicide Division has provided HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Martinez and S. Chettry as points of contact for potential leads on the case, as per the City of Houston news release.
