The streets of Lake Mary are set to come alive this Saturday as the community celebrates a historic moment—the Lake Mary Little League 12-U boys baseball team snagged the Little League World Series Championship in Williamsport last weekend. The victory not only brings home the title but marks the first time a Florida team has clinched the Series, as reported by WESH.
For those planning to participate or watch, the parade kicks off at 10 a.m. at Lake Mary Avenue and will make its path south down Country Club Road. It continues west onto Crystal Lake Avenue and eventually takes a celebratory turn south onto 4th Street, as detailed by WFTV. This route will lead the winners to their disembarkation point at 4th and Lakeview, where they'll take a 'grand walk' through downtown. Those driving in should note that several roads, including stretches of Country Club Road and 4th Street, will be closed for the festivities.
The lineup showcases more than just the victorious boys' baseball team, it also celebrates the Lake Mary Little League 11U Girls Softball State Champions and includes an array of community pillars, from the Lake Mary Police Department to Central Florida Professional Team Mascots.
Following the parade, festivities will continue with a block party at Central Park, starting with a ceremony featuring speeches from city officials and Lake Mary Little League representatives. Alongside the congratulations and speeches, expect food, crafts, and entertainment to round out a day of community pride and celebration.
