A 23-year-old man is fighting for his life after a daylight shooting in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. On Friday afternoon, the victim was attacked while seated in a parked vehicle. The Chicago Police stated that at around 3:30 p.m., three individuals approached the man's car in the 4600 block of South Damen Avenue, brandished firearms, and unleashed a hail of bullets toward him, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.
After the shooting, the man was promptly transported to Stroger Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Details provided by the Chicago Sun-Times specify that the man sustained gunshot wounds to the back.
As of now, the police have yet to bring into custody any suspects in association with this violent incident, as per the Chicago Sun-Times. The Chicago Police Department's Area One detectives are actively investigating the case.
