
A 35-year-old man sustained critical injuries late Tuesday night in a shooting at a gas station in the Bronzeville neighborhood, located on Chicago's South Side. According to Chicago police, the incident occurred shortly before midnight at a fuel station on the 4700 block of South Michigan Avenue. The Chicago Tribune reported that the victim was approached by three individuals, one of whom produced a handgun and fired three shots, hitting the man twice in the abdomen.
The victim received immediate medical attention from the Chicago Fire Department before being transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is currently listed in critical condition. As of now, the suspects in the shooting have not been apprehended, and detectives are actively investigating the scene. WGN-TV notes that the offenders fled the area following the incident.
