A man with a gunshot wound entered a Popeye's on Indianapolis' north side. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to the scene at 8:00 p.m. last night at 2402 East 38th Street, near Keystone Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from an injury to his upper extremities, which was seemingly caused by a firearm. According to WTHR, witnesses at the scene conveyed that the man walked into Popeye's bleeding and claimed to have been shot at a McDonald's restaurant across the street, an incident IMPD is still investigating.
The man was quickly transported to Methodist Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. However, due to the severity of his injuries, police mentioned that he has so far been unable to provide a statement regarding the events that led to his wounding. According to a statement obtained by Fox59, IMPD clarified that they do not believe the shooting occurred in the immediate vicinity of Popeye's.
