The Metropolitan Police Department is urgently seeking the public's assistance to help identify suspects tied to two armed robberies in Southeast D.C. These incidents, which involved gunmen entering businesses and demanding cash, occurred this past Monday within minutes of each other.
In the first incident, reported by the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspects struck at approximately 12:24 p.m. in the 3800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. Shortly thereafter, the perpetrators appeared to boldly and quickly make their move again at around 12:46 p.m., this time in the 1400 block of the same avenue. The close proximity in time and place of these crimes suggests a calculated spree by the suspects.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects have not yet been released to the public. However, the Metropolitan Police Department is working to provide additional information and has updated their initial announcement with more photos to aid in the identification process. The Department's commitment to bringing these suspects to justice is underscored by the reward offered, a sum totaling up to $10,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction.
The Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone who has information that could possibly lead to identifying or apprehending these individuals to make a point of contact but to not directly engage with the suspects. Tips can be submitted by calling (202) 727-9099 or texting the department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
