The Metropolitan Police Department is reaching out to the public for help catching those responsible for armed robberies in Southeast Washington. According to a police statement, both incidents occurred on Monday, where gun-wielding suspects made off with cash from two different locales.
The first robbery occurred around 12:24 p.m. on the 3800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, with the case number logged as 24131418. Barely more than 20 minutes later, at approximately 12:46 p.m., a similar heist was reported on the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, noted under case number 24131428. In each instance, the assailants swiftly departed after securing the stolen money.
Witnesses and others with relevant information are urged to engage with law enforcement in a strictly non-confrontational manner. The authorities have provided multiple avenues for contact, emphasizing that individuals should either call (202) 727-9099 or text the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411 should they have pertinent details to share.
As an incentive for community cooperation, the MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000. The reward is for information leading directly to the arrest and conviction of those involved in these particularly violent crimes occurring within the jurisdiction of Washington, D.C.
