
Miami-Dade County Metrobus operator Anthony Howard has been named the 2024 Operator of the Year by the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA), an announcement that underscores the importance of commitment and professionalism in public transit roles. The FPTA will honor Howard at the FPTA/CTD Annual Conference on September 24. Miami-Dade County shared the news about Howard who has been a part of the Miami-Dade Transit for 23 years, bringing a deep dedication to his work.
Last year, Howard came in second for the same award. This year’s achievement not only highlights his consistent performance but also his improvement and ongoing dedication. His recognition comes as a result of his respectful interactions with passengers, helpful attitude, and strict adherence to safety protocols. According to Eulois Cleckley, Director and CEO of the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW), “Anthony’s dedication to public service and his exceptional performance as a bus operator have set a high standard for all our employees."
