The tragic death of 15-year-old Latajohne Phillips, who was shot and killed in Muncie, has been reported. FOX59 reported that a 17-year-old, Robert Graham III, now faces a slew of serious felony charges, including murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, in connection with the incident that occurred on August 14.
The grief was intensified by the involvement of other young people. Authorities revealed that a 16-year-old, whose identity is protected, has been charged with robbery causing serious injury and other felonies, according to The Star Press.
According to court documents cited by FOX59, the call to the Muncie Police Department was made at about 10:03 p.m., reporting a loud "boom" on the 2900 block of North Elgin Street, where Phillips was discovered with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts to save the youth, his life was taken away.
In further disclosures, two more individuals, Daisha Eckford, 19, and Ricky Nathan, 19, are facing related charges, as per the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. These charges, as outlined by WRTV, show a pattern of shared involvement in Phillips's death. They include conspiracy to commit robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, among others. Notably, the death marked Muncie's first homicide this year. Adding to the list of accused is a 14-year-old male, for whom the prosecutor's office is seeking to file formal charges through a petition to the Juvenile Court.
