Albin Avdiu, sought on attempted murder and reckless endangerment charges after an August 5 shooting, was arrested yesterday following a chain of events leading from alleged drug transactions to a vehicular pursuit capped by a crash and foot chase. The Nashville Police Department reported that detectives identified Avdiu in his car on Kendall Park Drive, and, after surveillance, witnessed what they believed were drug deals before trying to apprehend him, leading Avdiu to flee, finally getting apprehended in a Griggs Place backyard.

Law enforcement successfully deployed spike strips during the pursuit, which were in use by the time Avdiu lost control of his vehicle after a police helicopter followed him and crashed into a parked car on Lakeville Drive, he then drove a short distance before abandoning his car and fleeing on foot. In the wake of this arrest, officers discovered 4.7 grams of blue powder testing positive for fentanyl, around 800-900 pills - also confirmed to be fentanyl, other various pills, and a loaded handgun inside Avdiu's car.

A subsequent search of Avdiu's Kendall Park Drive residence yielded two rifles, numerous loaded magazines, a money counter, and more than seven thousand dollars in cash. The discoveries at both the vehicle and home locations hint at the broader implications of Avdiu's alleged activities beyond the shooting incident on Edge O Lake Drive that initially put him on detectives' radar.

In connection with the series of events, Albin Avdiu now faces a litany of charges including attempted murder and reckless endangerment, stemming from the Edge O Lake Drive shooting which left a 30-year-old Nashville man wounded, and the charges were compounded after Avdiu's attempt to elude capture added felony drug possession, evading arrest, and gun possession during the commission of a felony to his rap sheet. He is currently held on $385,000 bond, as detailed in a release by the Nashville Police.
