As Labor Day approaches, the City of Miami is maintaining its commitment to cleanliness — The Department of Solid Waste will continue its regular garbage collection with no changes to the schedule. According to a recent announcement from the city, regular garbage, recycling, and bulky trash services will march on as scheduled come Monday, September 2.
For those Miami residents who keep an eye on the calendar to throw waste to the curb, residents should place bulky items out the night before, ensuring items are in the public right of way and at least five feet away from other objects, as the city’s release urges. Also, separate bulky items from recyclables and do not mix it in the blue cart.
For those who prefer to handle their bulky waste themselves, the Mini Dump Facility at 1290 NW 20th St. will swing open its gates from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Labor Day. Be sure to bring proof of Miami residency when dropping off items, as per city guidelines.
Any resident looking for extra details, simply dial 311 for more information, or for those inclined to the digital approach, the city’s website at www.miamizerowaste.com is a resource with a full breakdown of services, as the announcement added.
