
Last night, a fire erupted at a northwest Houston home leaving residents shaken but unharmed. According to a report by FOX 26 Houston, the blaze started just before 10 p.m. at a residence located at 902 Drane Street. A heavy fire engulfed the home's front breezeway and was in the threat to spread to the interior of the house.
The Houston Fire Department's swift response allowed firefighters to contain the damage, successfully stopping the fire from reaching the main structure of the home. "Firefighters say they were met with heavy flames engulfing the front breezeway of the home," a statement obtained by FOX 26 Houston revealed. Fortunately, the single occupant of the house managed to escape without injury, and there were no other injuries reported.
Further details indicated that the fire appeared to have originated in the residence's breezeway but then moved towards the garage. Assistant Fire Chief Scott Raider described the firefighters' rapid approach which proved instrumental in preventing further disaster. "Firefighters have not confirmed what caused the blaze, but arson investigators were called to the scene," according to a statement obtained by Click2Houston.
