
Early Saturday morning, a tragic shooting occurred on the 4700 block of West Polk Street in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, leaving one man dead and two others injured. According to the Chicago Tribune, a 53-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were outside when they came under fire. The man was hit in his abdomen and the woman in her right ankle.
The 53-year-old victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition but unfortunately was later pronounced dead. The woman was also taken to the same hospital and is reported to be in good condition. A third victim, a 33-year-old man, was shot in his right foot and chose to self-transport to Rush Hospital, where he too is listed in good condition, as per CBS News Chicago.
"There are no suspects in custody," the CBS News Chicago report underscored, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
