A Plymouth man has been detained without bail after being arraigned on a murder charge for the fatal stabbing of his father. As reported by the Plymouth Police Department, 26-year-old Matthew Paluzzi entered a plea of not guilty in Plymouth District Court to one count of Murder.
The case stems from an early morning 911 call on August 15, where authorities were alerted to an unresponsive man suffering from a neck laceration at 15 Cedar Road. According to the news release from the district attorney's office, the victim was found covered in blood, and a kitchen knife lay nearby the front door. Plymouth Police and emergency personnel later pronounced the victim, identified as 73-year-old Anthony Paluzzi, deceased at the scene.
An autopsy by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is set to determine an exact cause of death. In the meantime, the district attorney's office stated that Paluzzi is to remain held without bail, with an anticipated court appearance scheduled for October 2, as detailed by the Plymouth Police Department. Assistant District Attorney David Cutshall is tasked to prosecute the case.
