Yesterday morning, Redwood City became the site of multiple assaults perpetrated by a single suspect, now in custody after a string of seemingly random acts of violence. According to the Redwood City Police Department, at 7:39 A.M., officers responded to Broadway, where a customer sitting in their car was reportedly attacked by an unknown man. Officers canvassed the area, but the suspect initially evaded capture.

A mere 20 minutes later, another violent incident took place at County Center, involving the same male suspect who punched a community member without provocation. It was during the afternoon hours, at the 2500 block of Middlefield Road, that a suspect was taken into custody linked to both assaults. The apprehended individual, Miguel Angel Landa, a 37-year-old Redwood City resident, matched the descriptions given in both incidents.

According to the Redwood City Police Department, Landa faces serious charges, including Battery under Penal Code 242 and Willful Injury to an Elder under Penal Code 368(B)(1). A violation of parole under Penal Code 3056 was also added to Landa's charges. Law enforcement officials transferred Landa to the custody of the Redwood City Police Department before he was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
