The San Antonio Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place yesterday in the 4600 block of Belinda Lee Street. A man in his 50s was found with a gunshot wound to the head after a confrontation in his own home, as reported by KENS 5.
According to police, the victim survived as the bullet did not penetrate his skull, and he was taken to BAMC in a stable condition. The nature of the confrontation isn’t entirely clear, but it allegedly started over another person believed to be staying at the victim's home. Unfortunately, the individual accused of the shooting has yet to be located, and at the time of this writing, police were unable to provide a description of the vehicle involved.
The East Side neighborhood, specifically the area near Belinda Lee Street and South WW White Road, has seen its share of violence, including a shooting in 2023 that injured a 13-year-old boy. Details surrounding that case, including whether any arrests were made, remain unclear, as KENS 5 noted.
As for the latest incident, additional information provided by FOX San Antonio suggests that the confrontation escalated from an argument, culminating when the suspect, allegedly involved in the dispute, drew a gun and shot the homeowner. After the shooting, the suspect is said to have driven off, and the man, injured but in stable condition, was transported to the hospital.
The San Antonio Police Department continues their investigation and urges anyone with information to come forward.
