In the early morning hours of August 1, a hit-and-run incident occurred in the Logan Heights neighborhood that resulted in the death of a 49-year-old woman. The car, a left-turning Chevrolet Silverado, did not stop and fled after the collision. The victim was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, where she later succumbed.

Rios has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run and was booked into the County Jail, as detailed in the city's press release.
