The San Diego Sheriff's Office has been actively pursuing a felony suspect in the Leucadia area after he evaded deputies. The manhunt began to unfold earlier today, and the Sheriff's Office took to social media to rally community awareness and assistance in the search effort. In a post from their official X account, the office described the suspect as a white male adult, estimated to be around 28 years of age, standing 5 feet tall with a heavy build. He’s noted to have brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and shorts. The search was centered near the 500 block of Rockport Court in Leucadia.
A helicopter announcement was part of the Sheriff's Office strategy, a call for vigilance not uncommon when the stakes are high. The community within and surrounding the 500 block of Rockport Court suddenly found themselves ears perked, searching for any sign of a man who had become the day's most unwanted guest. According to the X post released by the Sheriff's Office, anyone who comes into contact with or sees someone matching the description should maintain a safe distance and immediately call 911.
