San Francisco might not have a reputation for extreme weather, but that doesn't mean its residents don't keep an eye on the skies. According to the National Weather Service, today's weather in central Indiana will see patchy fog before 9 am, then transition to clear skies with sunshine, as temperatures climb to a high near 89 degrees. Evening skies will remain mostly clear as the temperature drops to a low around 70, with the possibility of more patchy fog after midnight.
Sunday continues the trend of sunny skies and high temperatures, with the mercury expected to to stubbornly peak once again near 89 degrees. A calm wind in the morning will become west around 5 mph in the afternoon. As the day transitions into evening, the sky will stay mostly clear, with the low hovering around 70 degrees. The start of the week doesn't stray from this pattern much, with sunny conditions set to dominate and a high near 90 degrees on Monday.
Moving into Tuesday, there's a slight shift in the weather narrative with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 pm, despite continuous sunshine and a high once again around the 89 degree mark. Knot together that variability, the night will see a small chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 pm before partly cloudy conditions take hold and temperatures drop to a more comfortable low around 66.
Midweek forecasts bring a noticeable cooldown. Wednesday will offer full sunny respite, with a high near 81 degrees and a north northeast wind around 8 mph. Clear skies persist into the evening, as temperatures conclude to the low 60s. Thursday and Friday will closely mirror Wednesday's reprieve, with highs expected to hover near the 80-degree mark, providing a consistent pattern to a week that started out warm and is set to to gently segue into more temperate conditions.
Despite temperatures conducive to outdoor activity, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for central Indiana due to the potential for isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday. While spotter activation is not anticipated at this time, it's a reminder that Mother Nature's plans can always introduce an element of unpredictability into our lives, even as we continue to enjoy the summer season.
