The streets of Doral experienced a taste of celebrity sweetness yesterday when NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal turned up to promote his latest venture into the world of confectionary delights. With the unique energy only he could bring, Shaq introduced "Shaq-alicious" gummies to the local crowd at Walmart.
These gummies are a nod to his German childhood, where they were a cultural staple, not just a novelty for the former basketball star. "I grew up in Germany where we used to eat a lot of gummy and gummy bears, how ever you wanna pronounce it. So when Hersheys came to me with the idea I said ‘Let’s try something that will taste Shaq-a-licious,'" O'Neal said in a statement obtained by WSVN. The product comes in two flavors that are sure to tempt the taste buds of fans and sweet toothed locals alike: original and sour.
Shoppers had the pleasure of meeting the basketball icon in person, as he made his appearance at Walmart to interact with fans and give a firsthand look at the Shaq-alicious brand. According to the Miami Herald, 'I'm the ambassador of fun': Shaq returns to Miami to share his new brand of snacks.
