St. Louis Park residents and commuters are currently navigating a labyrinth of construction as Eureka Construction takes on the 2024 Cedar Lake Road project. Closures abound in the West and Middle Stages of the project, with traffic barred along Cedar Lake Road from Jordan Avenue to just past the Westwood Lutheran Church's east driveway. Affected areas include a stretch to Virginia Circle, with drivers encouraged to use the posted detour routes. The construction update was released in a recent report by the City of St. Louis Park.
Further complicating matters, Hennepin County has temporarily shut down Minnetonka Boulevard for culvert replacement work, expected to last until August 30. According to the city's communication, this has led to a revised detour that loops traffic via Highway 169, Highway 7, and Louisiana Avenue. The county is handling queries at [email protected], and signs have been posted to guide the rerouted flow.
The week of August 19 will see crews working along Cedar Lake Road to lay down new sidewalks, erect retaining walls, and plant new trees, all parts of the West Stage improvements.
