
A 70-year-old man has died after an incident at Lake Boon in Stow, Massachusetts. The Stow Police and Fire Departments reported receiving a distress call at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, alerting them to a man who had fallen into the water. Upon arrival, rescuers discovered Frederick Dusseault, a local resident of Stow, submerged and being aided by a bystander, as detailed in a statement found on WCVB Boston.
Despite having been pulled from the frigid lake, Dusseault was unresponsive when first responders took over life-saving measures. Emergency personnel members saw when they arrived Dusseault being helped by the initial civilian rescuer on the scene. After administering CPR, he was transported to a nearby hospital where his death was later proclaimed, as reported by NBC Boston.
The Stow police and fire departments, along with a state dive team, worked together to retrieve Dusseault from the lake. The Boston Globe reported on how witnesses and authorities collaborated in the rescue effort.
The details of how Dusseault fell into the lake are unclear. He was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to the hospital.
