Law enforcement officials have made progress in the investigation with the identification and arrest of a suspect. In the case of the tragic death of 47-year-old Glandina Latamba Dixon, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced the suspect, 53-year-old Sam Roary, was apprehended by their Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) on August 18.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's release, Mr. Roary was taken to the Law Enforcement Center in Uptown for interrogation. Following the interview, he was placed in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the murder of Ms. Dixon.

The next of kin have been formally notified about the arrest. CMPD continues to pursue the investigation diligently, suggesting that despite the arrest, there are details that still need to surface for a complete understanding of the circumstances that led to the untimely demise of Ms. Dixon.
