The search for Matthew Paluzzi, wanted in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation in Manomet, ended as the Hanover Police Department took him into custody, awaiting the issuance of a search warrant. The Plymouth Police Department took to Facebook to inform the public that Paluzzi is no longer at large and is now being housed at the Plymouth Police Headquarters, handled by the Massachusetts State Police for the transition.
Earlier alerts described Paluzzi as a 26-year-old white male with a distinctive look: brown, shoulder-length hair, and a full beard, last seen in a grey North Face hooded sweatshirt, and may have been operating a black 2017 Nissan Murano Platinum Edition with Massachusetts plates, the police sought the public's assistance but warned individuals not to approach him, citing potential danger as Mr. Paluzzi may have been armed, affording no small amount of urgency to their messaging. When they located the Nissan bearing the registration 8MZF30, and in the process of securing Paluzzi, they effectively neutralized a precarious situation that could have escalated further.
The case attracted significant attention within the community, with residents being on high alert; this swift resolution provided some measure of relief to those in the Manomet area. The Plymouth Police expressed gratitude toward community members for their help, yet details regarding the nature of the homicide, Paluzzi's involvement, or any alleged motive remain sparse as the investigation continues to unfold.
