A traffic stop turned pursuit on Sunday in Mount Juliet led to the arrest of a 39-year-old Nashville man. Mount Juliet Police attempted to stop the vehicle due to suspicion of impaired driving, noticing that the car was being driven with one wheel on the rim. The driver initially complied, but after providing a false license, he chose to abruptly flee the scene, prompting a police chase that concluded with a minor crash on Lebanon Pike, as reported by WSMV.
The man, whose identity was later confirmed, was found to be wanted in Nashville for failure to appear on assault and theft charges and was wanted in Shelby County for domestic assault. "We are grateful that this dangerous individual is off the streets," Mount Juliet Police said, reflecting on the serious nature of the man's criminal history, which includes an aggravated assault on a police officer in Florida and failing to report his location as a convicted sex offender, as outlined in the official Mt. Juliet Police statement.

In addition to the man's arrest, officers discovered two AR-pistols in the vehicle, complete with spent ammunition casings. The weapons are set to undergo forensic ballistics testing to determine whether they might be connected to any other criminal incidences. The suspect reportedly admitted to officers that he had just smoked crack cocaine prior to the traffic stop, as detailed in a report by NewsChannel 5.
The man is currently being held at the Wilson County Jail, and his apprehension is particularly notable due to the perceived threat he posed to the community. The finding of two AR pistols in his possession raises further concerns regarding his recent activities and potential connections to unreported crimes.
