In a recurrence of violence, an overnight shooting at the James Lounge in Northeast Memphis resulted in the death of two men and left another in critical condition. The Memphis Police Department responded to the emergency at around 1:30 a.m., at the club located along Summer Avenue near Pope Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered three men with gunshot wounds. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third was urgently transported to Regional One Hospital in a critical state, as WREG reports.
This latest incident is not an isolated one for the venue, which previously witnessed a man's killing in 2019, and another shooting involving a security guard in 2020. The current investigation has yet to release suspect information to the public. Meanwhile, this marks the second nightclub shooting in the city this month, with four people having been shot at a different locale, Focuz Lounge, located merely a 10-minute drive from James Lounge, as Local Memphis reports.
