The theme park arms race in Orlando just kicked into new gear as Universal Orlando Resort unveils plans for its latest hotel venture. The Universal Helios Grand Hotel, set to open in 2025 alongside the much-anticipated Epic Universe theme park, promises direct access to the park—a first for Universal guests. This 500-room Loews Hotel, inspired by the Mediterranean and Greek mythology, overlooks the gardens and waters of Celestial Park, as reported by ClickOrlando.

Inside the hotel, guests will find themselves surrounded by details that pay homage to Helios, the Greek sun god, including celestial patterns and constellations within its casually elegant, Mediterranean design. From the expansive windows in the lobby, visitors can set their sights on Epic Universe and the vista of Celestial Park. "Designed to blend immersion and relaxation to create a hotel stay like no other, this palatial resort features tranquil sleeping accommodations, entertaining amenities for the whole family to enjoy, divine dining options, a stunning rooftop bar and the hotel’s very own dedicated entrance to the new theme park," Universal Orlando said in a release, as reported by WESH.

The accommodations themselves are described as being bright and inviting, and for the younger crowd, the "How to Train Your Dragon" Kids’ Suites, offer an imaginative place for little Vikings to dream amidst dragons. But it's not all about sleep. The resort also includes a pool equipped with underwater speakers, poolside movies, and other recreational activities. For those looking to twist, dine, and unwind, dining options range from the light and airy Flora Taverna, serving Mediterranean comfort foods, to the rooftop Bar Helios, boasting 360-degree views and a ceiling that mirrors the night sky.

Speaking of Bar Helios, it's one of the hotel's star attractions with its golden dome that's visible from the ground up. As you take in the scenery with a handcrafted cocktail in hand, you'll enjoy tapas and familiar favorites under a ceiling ablaze with golden starry constellations. Despite this grandeur, an official opening date for the hotel has not been announced, nor when booking will open. Staying true to Universal's penchant for thematic accommodations, two other space-themed sister hotels, Stella Nova Resort and Terra Luna Resort, are also under construction south of the theme park, according to ClickOrlando.

Adding to the allure of staying at the Universal Helios Grand Hotel is the privilege for guests to enter the theme parks an hour early with valid theme park admission, per WESH.
