Vehicle Fire on I-95 North Causes Major Delays in Palm Beach Gardens, No Injuries ReportedSource: Google Street View

Commuters on I-95 North in Palm Beach Gardens experienced significant delays this morning due to a vehicle fire that erupted near Exit 79A, PGA Boulevard East. According to a report by CBS12, the incident was first reported at around 8:02 a.m., with flames engulfing the vehicle and details of the cause yet to emerge.

Florida 511 announced that following the fire, the off-ramp was closed, and traffic was disrupted across three right lanes on the northbound stretch. This closure led to, a build-up of congestion as the morning rush hour peaked, with no injuries reported at the time of the incident.

The effects of the car fire extended beyond the immediate vicinity of the exit ramp. Traffic anchor Yasmine Julmisse of WPBF 25 highlighted the extent of the delays, stating that there was "more than a 2-mile backup approaching the exit."

Jutmisse went on to offer an alternative for drivers, advising at 8:34 a.m. to "get off of I-95 at Blue Heron Boulevard and to take Military Trail northbound to PGA Boulevard to reenter on the northbound I-95 ramp". This detour was suggested to help alleviate some of the traffic pressures caused by the car fire and to enable drivers to continue their journeys, with lesser disruptions.
