
A 16-year-old male has been charged in connection with a violent incident that occurred earlier this summer on Chicago’s Westside, the Chicago Police Department reports. The youth was arrested on September 17, 2024, and faces serious charges including one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and another for armed robbery with a firearm.
According to the details provided by the police, the juvenile allegedly played a part in the shooting of a 19-year-old female on June 16, 2024, following the theft of her personal belongings the young woman suffered injuries in what began as a robbery in the 3900 block of W. 21st Street; an area that falls under the jurisdiction of the 10th District, the investigation led to the subsequent arrest of the suspect after he was identified as a participant in the crime. The arrest took place in the 3100 block of S. Kostner Ave, although no further information has been released at this juncture.
The defendant, whose name is being withheld due to his juvenile status, is currently under custody where he awaits further legal proceedings.
