The mystery surrounding the death of a young woman whose body was found on Highway 70 South in 2020 has finally been resolved. Officials have identified the woman as 19-year-old Ashley Fuller of Columbia, TN, according to an announcement made by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (MNPD).
Fuller's remains were discovered inside of an abandoned house on Thanksgiving Day nearly four years ago. Following the release of a forensic rendering of her face and a distinct wrist tattoo by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) last September, a family member came forward to confirm her identity. After releasing a forensic rendering created by the TBI of her face and wrist tattoo, a relative who recognized the images, she contacted the police. Her identity was confirmed through dental records.
According to the medical examiner's office, no foul play is suspected in Fuller's death. However, conducting a final review to determine the official cause of death remains underway. Confirmed through dental records, Fuller's identification offers a bitter solace in a space where mysteries often remain buried, silent, and bound by the stubbornness of circumstance.
