A tragic shooting in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood has once again highlighted the city's grappling with gun violence, with a 37-year-old woman falling victim to stray gunfire. Early Tuesday morning, around 4:30 a.m., the woman was in her home on the 10100 block of South Aberdeen Street when shots fired from outside struck her in the chest, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Despite swift transportation to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the woman was pronounced dead. No suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the incident, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
The Chicago Sun-Times adds that Area Four detectives, in their ongoing investigation, were speaking to a person of interest Tuesday morning.
