According to a release by the Chicago Police Department, Griffin was apprehended by authorities on the morning of September 13, 2024, in Pinckneyville, Il. The arrest is part of a narrative that saw a violent intrusion into a South Green Street home over two years ago result in the deaths of three people.

In the incident that occurred between April 4th and April 5th, 2022, Griffin is alleged to have killed an 81-year-old woman, a 64-year-old woman, and a 61-year-old man. Authorities assert that following the murders, Griffin fled the scene, eluding capture for an extended period. While the investigation continued, Griffin was not only facing murder charges but also accusations of armed home invasion, aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm, other forcible felonies, and dealing with stolen vehicles.
