The thefts have occurred under the shroud of night and in the early morning hours, with the most recent incidents quickly reported spanning from July to September this year, as per the CPD. Locations concentrated around the 2200 block of S. Wabash Ave have been particularly afflicted, with multiple offenses dotting the area. Security measures are strongly advised by authorities, including parking in well-lit areas, equipping vehicles with alarms, and investing in gun safes to securely fasten firearms within the vehicle.
