
The Chicago Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to locate a man accused of sexually abusing and attempting to abduct a 6-year-old girl in the vicinity of Ada Park on Chicago's South Side, reports have emerged. According to FOX 32 Chicago, the incident occurred on Friday when the man allegedly followed and approached a group of children near the playground, where he touched the young girl and attempted to take her away.
The suspect also extended an invitation to the children, asking them to come to his home, adds CBS News Chicago. He is described as a Hispanic man aged between 25 to 35 years, with a light complexion, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, and weighing around 160 to 180 pounds. With close-shaven black hair, a beard, and brown eyes, the man was last seen attired in a light-colored long-sleeve shirt and green pants, hiked up to his knees.
Authorities have released a photo of the suspect and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and to inform the police immediately of any suspicious persons or activities. Further safety precautions remind parents to instruct their children to report any dubious activities to an adult without delay.
