Authorities are asking for public assistance in tracking down a suspect linked to a robbery that occurred on the Chicago Transit Authority's Pink Line late last month. According to the Chicago Police Department's alert, the unidentified individual is wanted for a strong-arm robbery that took place on August 29 at around 5:05 PM.
The encounter unfolded as a CTA train arrived at its station, and the suspect took advantage of a moment's inattention fleeting as a woman dozed off. He abruptly snatched a necklace from her and quickly disappeared from the scene, a sper the CPD.
Described as a Hispanic male, presumed to be between the ages of 25 and 35, he remains at large. The Community Alert, which includes surveillance images to aid identification efforts, serves as both an appeal for vigilance and cooperation among the public.
They urge anyone with relevant information, no matter how tangential it might seem, to come forward. You can contact the Area One detectives at (312) 745-4443 with any tips, which can be made anonymously.
