A water main break at the intersection of Stirling Road and Hiatus Road in Cooper City has led to an advisory for a local preschool to boil their water. According to WSVN, officials have issued a precautionary boil water notice for Learning in Motion Preschool, located within the affected area. The advisory directs that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled for at least one minute before use.
The notice, which came following a significant drop in water pressure due to the break, will stand for a minimum of 48 hours, as crews work on repairs. The City of Cooper City has stated, "Following multiple attempts to clamp the 16-inch water main, the pipe was unable to maintain necessary pressure." As a consequence, a segment of the pipe is set to be replaced, imposing the boil water order strictly for the preschool, with no other homes or businesses currently known to be impacted.
City officials, expressing their commitment to safety, have delineated the steps under the Florida Administrative Code that demand such an advisory. "Florida Administrative Code mandates the issuance of a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory under certain operating conditions," the City of Cooper City communicated in a community advisory.
Parents and guardians with children at Learning in Motion Preschool are advised to stay updated through the city’s communication channels.
