On Sunday, a Ford F-150 suffered a mechanical failure on I-15, leading to an incident that would temporarily constrict the artery of transportation flowing through the state's expanse. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that the driver managed to navigate the stricken vehicle to safety off the road, between mileposts 39 and 40. Having escaped unscathed, the driver and passenger could only watch as the truck became fully engulfed in flames, laying siege to the nearby dry grass, a kindle that would become more than just a backdrop to a vehicular tumult. Both were able to exit the vehicle with no injuries, which started a grass fire. For a span, two right lanes were closed, not exceeding 20 minutes, while the flames were subdued by fire personnel tending to the conflagration, as detailed by ABC4.
