Elizabethtown, Indiana became the center of law enforcement attention following a drug raid executed by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies, with the assistance of the Columbus SWAT team. The raid occurred at a residence on the 400 block of 3rd Street, according to a news release from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office.
The operation was the result of gathered intelligence that implicated 48-year-old Christopher Henson in narcotics dealing. A previous conviction for similar charges already blemished Henson's record. Upon searching Henson's residence, deputies uncovered "a substantial amount of methamphetamine, syringes, scales, and other drug paraphernalia," as reported by WISH-TV.
The arrest took a drastic turn when officials discovered that Henson had ingested a significant amount of what was suspected to be fentanyl, risking fatal overdose. "Henson was then transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for evaluation and treatment," The Republic detailed.
After receiving medical clearance from Columbus Regional Hospital, Henson was incarcerated at the Bartholomew County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including dealing methamphetamine and possession of a narcotic drug. "He was placed on a 72-hour detention," as noted by Local News Digital. All allegations remain unconfirmed until the legal process determines guilt or innocence.
